Akiba Dori
A new concept in Dubai Design District is changing things up
Samer Hamadeh, founder of Dubai’s popular Stereo Arcade, was inspired by the famous neon-lit streets of Akihabara in Tokyo and the popular hawker centres in Southeast Asia when he came up with the vibrant new Akiba Dori concept.
The venue, at the Dubai Design District, has shops serving a range of different Japanese-inspired treats.
With neon lights, arcade games and anime characters, it holds a unique place among the city’s many dining concepts.
Try the wagyu tacos, Japanese-Italian fusion pizzas from pizzeria Tokyopolitan and end with the Taiyaki, a fish shaped waffle.
