Tod’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection has officially hit boutiques around the Middle East.
The collection – which was Tod’s creative director Walter Chiapponi’s first – represents the future of menswear for the Italian label.
The concept of the new collection is all based around the ‘T Club’, or a group of modern leaders with the penchant of eccentricity. As such, looks tend to be rooted in Italian elegance (that of beauty and good taste, classic looks and such) but with a quirky sense of rebellion and nonchalance.

It is always interesting to see someone’s first collection for a storied brand such as Tod’s. This marks the only time we have seen Chiapponi’s take on the brand, and it has turned out to be quite respectful towards Tod’s historic house style.
That said, there is no shortage of modern looks and materials in the collection, most notably in some of the leather details that can be seen across much of the outerwear. This is a far cry from what some other brands are doing to ‘modernize’ their collections by using streetwear stereotypes, and the collection is all the better for it.
