The Bally Peak Outlook Foundation will also build sustainable, expeditions trails to access the world’s most precious peaks

As a proudly Swiss brand the importance of sustainability within mountainous landscapes is not lost on Bally. For several years the apparel company has pledged its commitment to conservation efforts through various initiatives, announcing new expeditions through its Peak Outlook Foundation.

The expansive new program sees the Swiss luxury brand pledge to help cleanup eight Himalayan mountains and Mount Fuji in Japan, as well as build sustainable, expeditions trails to access the summit of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Born in the Swiss Alps, Bally’s ties to the mountains are core to its ethos, sponsoring alpine adventures from Winter Olympics teams and early 20th century climbing expeditions, to creating the iconic reindeer boots worn by Tenzing Norgay during the first – ever ascent of Mount Everest in 1953 with Sir Edmund Hillary.

In the Himalayas, the Bally Peak Outlook Foundation will continue to collaborate with Dawa Steven Sherpa, to clean the basecamps of eight of the region’s mountains that are in excess of 8,000m, including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586m), and Mt. Lhotse (8,516m)

These various initiatives come together, defining Bally’s long – term commitment to preserve mountainenvironments, ultimately driving awareness and action. Encouraging its customers to join the cause, the brand released an exclusive Bally Peak Outlook capsule at the end of 2020, with 100% of net proceeds benefiting future conservation projects.

Mountains sustain rich biodiversity and culture, covering 25% of the world’s land surface and supplying freshwater for 12% of the human population. However, these peaks and their surrounding communities regularly confront the adverse effects of global warming, a scarcity of resources and the consequences of tourism. As far as Bally is concerned it is paramount to help these important ecosystems.
