Bally’s most elevated dress shoe, the Scribe, returns for Autumn/Winter 2019 alongside the Geneve; a new range of fashion-forward hybrid styles, born from the same execution of craftsmanship and Swiss expertise.
The Scribe owes its provenance to the grandson of Bally founder Carl Franz Bally, Max, who spent 60 years working in the company and created the Scribe to complete the brand’s 100th anniversary in 1951. Named after the Parisian hotel in which he often resided, the development of the famed shoe involves 240 working phases and 18 skilled shoemakers.
Bally’s Autumn/Winter Scribe collection continues to epitomize the innovation associated with this long treasured men’s shoe style. Presenting a new frontier in Bally Scribe design and advanced Goodyear welted construction, the newly refined and elongated last creates a simpler and more modern silhouette. All styles are now available with a choice of a leather or rubber sole and incorporate a cork insole, which adapts to fit the foot for added comfort. Seasonal inclinations appear in prune on the Scavone boot and Prussian blue across the Scardino monk and Scolder oxford.
Crafting shoes for the modern generation and mindset, the Geneve capsule is Bally’s new hybrid style for Autumn/Winter, including a shoe and a boot.
Built with Goodyear lightweight flex construction, the shoe features mixed materials of suede and calf with brogue detailing on its classic upper combined with a chunky rubber lug sole to exaggerate the silhouette and ensure durability. The result marries function with a contemporary mood for men.
The Geneve collection features two boots, the Gerome with an internal zip and Geber Chelsea boot with brogue detailing. The Gepard derby and Georgian complete the offering with a laser-cut brogue motif featuring throughout, inspired by the Bally archive.
