Does Tom Hardy seem like a guy who would back out on a bet even if he loses? Absolutely not.
As he told Esquire back in 2016, he had a bet with his Revenant co-star Leonardo DiCaprio about getting an Academy Award nomination for the Alejandro González Iñárritu film. DiCaprio, the star of the film and longtime Oscar hopeful, predicted Hardy would be nominated for his performance.
According to Esquire , “Hardy bet a tattoo of the winner’s choosing that he wouldn’t. Hardy lost.”

DiCaprio earned his first Oscar for the film, but he also won the bet when Hardy received a Best Supporting Actor nomination, as well. And that’s when he contacted his co-star to collect on his second win.
“He wrote, in this really shitty handwriting: ‘Leo knows everything.'” Hardy told Esquire at the time. “I was like, ‘OK, I’ll get it done, but you have to write it properly.'”
But at that point, he still hadn’t booked the appointment to get his tattoo.
Now, in a new picture of Hardy posted on bartender Andrew Calisterio’s Instagram, you can see part of the words “Leo knows everything” on the actor’s right bicep. Way to pull through, Hardy.
