Apple’s anniversary model will do too little and cost too much

On the eve of the iPhones 10-year-anniversary, Apple will be releasing three phones tonight. And unless you’re a die-hard Android fan (or lying to yourself) you can’t help be a little bit excited to see what Apple has in store.

However, while the all-screen iPhone X – as punters have taken to call it – has been stealing the news headline, we’re more interested in the two other phones expected to launch. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8s (or the iPhone underdogs, as it were)

Although, the iPhone X has a rumoured staggering price exceeding the AED 4000 mark; it is not all bad news for Apple fanboys, the company will also drop the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus (or maybe the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus). Nevertheless, the good news is, these two phones will probably be cheaper than their expensive counterpart.

The two iPhone 7 upgrades will look the same as previous iPhone instalments. Expect the same basic aluminium design, as well as the the same large bezels.

Unlike the iPhone X, it’s slated that these two will not pack wireless charging. Which probably means there’s no facial recognition unlock, either. All this makes either of these models getting an OLED display highly unlikely (and an AMOLED screen completely out of the question).

So what will they have?

They will rock cheaper prices than the iPhone X for increased speed. A new ultra-fast processor will make its way into the soon-to-be introduced devices. A new A11 chip, with a hexa-core processor and two high-powered cores, along with four lower-power, higher-efficiency cores for simpler tasks. That means they won’t use up your battery as quickly as their bigger, more expensive brother.

In addition, the 3GB Ram predecessor inside the iPhone X will also be present in one of the new regular iPhone models. We’d expect it to turn up in the larger iPhone device. .

As the iPhone X is rumoured to take much more time for it’s on sale date (some news outlets say it won’t be on shelves until November), the two other phones will follow Apple tradition. In a few days pre-order will be open, and the first set of phones will be delivered a week after that.

So we should get new iPhone models by the 22nd of September. As for the iPhone X, we’ll have to wait and see.
