Nothing really compares to the Mercedes-Maybach when it comes to matching extravagance with technical features. The new 223-series is no different.
The automaker has once again raised the bar, and the new Maybach is based on a brand-new S-Class. It includes a staggering variety of technology both inside and out, and aims to offer owners more than just extra legroom.
Normally when you talk about cars, you talk about the engine. But that’s not necessarily important when it comes to a Maybach, because its owners will almost certainly be driven.
To that end, the back cabin is where the fun really happens, with 253 LEDs that can play a “welcome rear” light show when you enter. Elsewhere, each seat as a calf, neck and shoulder massage function, as well as direct heating.

In the front it’s like an S-Class, just a lot more glamorous. There are five on-board display screens consisting of a 12.8-inch OLED main screen that serves as a state-of-the-art nerve center as well as a 12.3-inch 3D chauffeur show that can utilize 3D technology.

When it comes to that engine, Mercedes-Benz says it comes from one of its ‘portfolio’ of Mercedes motors, and that it is part hybrid. However, there is no word on whether that means it will be similar to the last-generation Maybach that had a 4.7-liter V8 Biturbo.
The Mercedes-Maybach 223 series is expected to launch mid-2021.
