The last Spider-Man game was widely regarded as the web-slinger’s best rendition in the virtual world. Now, new exciting rumours point to its sequel being just as fantastic.
According to the leak, Peter Parker is still in New York City – however MJ is somewhere else, reporting on peace talks in Samkyria. Parker has returned to the Daily Bugle to pay rent, while Jonah Jameson is also back in the company as well.
Meanwhile, the story takes place over winter in New York – which imapacts gameplay quite a bit. There’s light rain and snow, as well as blizzard effects. Obviously, swinging around New York in a blizzard isn’t going to be as slick and easy as when it’s a bright sunny day.
Apparently the story unfolds over a longer period of time than the last game, which will let you see how the city and its characters change over time. The city itself is also going to be more dynamic, in an aim to illustrate the point that Spider-Man is a friendly-neighborhoud superhero.
There will also be an increase in side missions; a few things mentioned include races against the Human Torch.
Doctor Conners is mentioned, as is Eddie Brock – who is expected to don his black Venom suit. In fact, it’s thought that symbiotes will be a big part of the new game, which will also feature an Oscrorp-created symbiote.
The rumour also suggests that there will be another trilogy of DLC, this time featuring Morbius, Wraith and Carnage.
You can expect more of a reveal this summer (around about he time when E3 would have occurred), however don’t expect the full game anytime soon – it’s currently got a release window of 2021.
