The Batman starring Ropert Pattinson as the caped crusader – will no longer land in theatres in 2021.
Instead, Warner Brothers has overhauled next year’s release schedule and delayed a number of films, including The Flash and Shazam 2.
Originally, The Batman would have released on October 2021. Now it will hit screens March 2022. Other film delays include sci-fi epic Dune, which was moved from December 18 of this year to October 2021.
The only good news in all this lies with The Matrix 4. The lana Wachowski-film was originally set for April 2022, but will now hit cinemas on December 2021.
Bad news for The Rock’s Black Adam film (it appears to have had its December 2021 release date entirely erased).
Currently, the only bright spark for this year’s cinema appears to be Wonder Woman 1984 – which is still set to release on December 25, 2020, along with Pixar’s ‘Soul’.
In other news, The re-make of classic children’s horror story The Witches by Roald Dahl will land on HBO Max in time for Halloween, on October 22.
The film stars Anne Hathaway as the titular witch, along with Octavia Spencer and Stanley Tucci. The film follows a boy who finds himself pursued by a coven of witches. He – along with his grandmother – must then attempt to foil a plan by the witches to turn the world’s population into mice.
Yes, it all sound rather tame but as a generation of children who watched the last The Witches movie (starring Anjelica Huston) it’s all pretty terrifying.
