Dubai’s art fair will include gallery exhibitions and pieces from artists around the globe

World Art Dubai – also known as the city’s biggest arts shindig – will take place this Thursday October 8, to Saturday October 10, at the Dubai World Trade Center.

As per usual, the sixth World Art Dubai will feature more than 2,000 pieces. Artists include emerging Emirati talent, to fashion designers, photographers and more – both locally and from abroad.

The general idea is to spread the love of art around the city, and so pricing of these artworks remains varied; you can pick up your own pieces at World Art Dubai starting at US$100 (AED367) and up.

Visitors will once again be able to see live activations and art performances, all handled responsibly and socially-distanced.

This year will also bring with it some new activations, including an Art Fashion Show – where pieces will be presented on a runway – while the ‘Creativity Unmasked’ is an exhibition that will see artists create pieces around their experience during the pandemic.

The 2020 fair will have a big focus on street art, and will see ten artists from Vandalist Art’s gallery to paint live graffiti. It will also offer street art and urban art canvases for sale during World Art Dubai.

Safetly guidelines will all be in place, and will follow the rules and regulations laid-out by government authorities. The venue – the Dubai World Trade Center – has also been certified by the Bureau Veritas SafeGuard Label. There will also be temperature screenings and sanitizer around the event.

In other news, the sixth annual Dubai Design Week will return to D3 this November 9-14, 2020.

The show will be a little different this year (what isn’t, really) with outdoor installations that comply with social-distancing measures. Owing to the fact that it’s rather hard for international designers to get to this year’s event, there is also a renewed focus on local artists – and those who have exhibited at the show previously.
