A report from TheWrap’s Umberto Gonzalez says he’ll be on set in September

Ben Affleck’s Batman is once again donning the cowl this fall, and it looks like it will be as soon as next month.

Affleck will likely return to the DCEU for the final days of the shoot of the upcoming film The Flash, according to TheWrap’s Umberto Gonzalez.

“Little nugget for y’all. Ben Affleck reports to set to suit up again as Batman on #TheFlashMovie in September,” he tweeted.

Gonalez has been a reliable source on superhero film leaks for years, so history would say that this tip is likely accurate.

Filming on The Flash began way back in April, and set photos have leaked of a stunt-double wearing Affleck’s Batman costume, but not Affleck himself, who has mostly been photographed this year reunited with Jennifer Lopez.

Affleck, whose much debated turn as the Bat reached a high-note earlier this year with the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, likely won’t be the only Batman to appear.

Michael Keaton will be returning as Batman as well, a role that he played in Tim Burton’s 1989 film as well as in Batman Returns in 1992. Leaks from the set have also seen Batman driving in a previously unseen Bat-cycle, but photos have been too unclear to recognize whether they are Affleck or Keaton related.

There has reportedly been some trouble on set in Affleck’s absence, as the Bat-cycle has apparently crashed multiple times.

Ezra Miller, who also played Barry Allen/the Flash in Zack Snyder’s Justice League as well as Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, will be starring in the film, which is also set to feature Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West who also appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl.

Andy Muschietti (It 1 and 2) will be directing, with Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey) writing.

Director Andy Muschietti stepped behind the camera for the film, working from a script from Birds of Prey‘s Christina Hodson.

Muscietti commented to Vanity Fair that Affleck’s Batman is an integral part of the film.

“He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie,” Muschietti previously told Vanity Fair. “The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before. It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in.”
