Some TikTokers are opening their apps today and finding they can access a secret new feature—Stories, just like Instagram and Facebook have.
The move comes one day after Twitter killed its Stories feature, called ‘Fleets’ after they publically announced did not engage its user base as it expected it to.
TikTok has yet to announce the feature, so we can’t be sure it will ever be officially launched, but Mashable SEA is reporting that one of their reporters has access to its beta testing.
Want to check if you have it? Here’s how.
1. Swipe the ‘For You’ page to the right to activate your camera
2. Hold the shudder button down and record a story
3. When you’ve vanished recording, hit the red ‘Share to Story’ button
4. View the Story in a new Story feed the top left-side of your screen
Yep, this is just like Instagram.
Didn’t work? You, like us, probably don’t yet have the feature. Keep checking and perhaps it will show up?
TikTok has not yet put out a press release on the feature, so it still remains a secret for now. Check with your friends too, perhaps we can find the first person in the Middle East to have the feature.
While your heartbreak over losing Fleets is likely continuing, we hope that you can find solace, even a little bit, in this new secret feature that is exactly like every other app you have in basically every way.
Oh, and follow us on TikTok.
