Christian Bale is rumoured to be in talks to join Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Love and Thunder
Our favourite Batman Cristian Bale is now set to make a return to the comic book universe. But before you get too excited, he's not making a return as the Dark Knight, instead he's reportedly set to appear in the new Thor: Love and Thunder movie.
Bale is reportedly in talks to play a yet-to-be-announced character in the upcoming movie Thor: Love and Thunder, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The former caped crusader has had an amazing couple of years. He currently stars in the Fox/Disney’s million dollar racing drama Ford v Ferrari, and it has made more than $200 million worldwide. He won an Oscar on his very first nomination for The Fighter in 2011, and was also nominated for American Hustle, The Big Short, and Vice. He has been nominated for SAG Award this award season for playing Ken Miles in Ford v Ferrari.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters worldwide on November 5, 2021 but so far there has been no official comment from either Marvel or Disney.
The director of Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi will be directing this new movie. he is also responsible for rejuvenating the Thor franchise and the 2017 movie grossed over $854 million at the box office worldwide.
In July 2019, there was one surprise announcement. Natalie Portman who hasn't been seen in the franchise since Thor: Dark World will be joining the cast as well.
So far while there's been no official confirmation, Waititi tweeted a comic caricature of a female thunder goddess which has led fans to believe that Portman will be seen not as Dr Jane Foster but as the new female hammer-weilding Thor.
For a franchise that has often been accused of being too focused on its male characters, all we can say is: All hail female Thor!
