MARVEL WILL MAKE A FOURTH THOR MOVIE! That’s basically the collective internal reaction in most fans’ brains on hearing the news. And ofcourse no surprise there but Chris Hemsworth will return as the titular Norse god.
The director of Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi will be directing this new movie. Waititi is resposible for rejuvenating the Thor franchise and the 2017 movie grossed over $854 million at the box office worldwide.
This is the first of the original Avengers to get a fourth movie in Marvel’s Phase 4 plans. More details of Thor 4 is supposedly be revealed at Marvel’s panel at San Diego Comic Con or at the upcoming D23 in August.
Rumour also has it that this is the first of many new Marvel movies set to be announced.

When Avengers: Endgame ended it seems like Marvel was just about done with the MCU on a whole and they’ve been slow to roll out news of more subsequent movies since. So when Hollywood Reporter put out the news for a fourth Thor movie, fans (including this author) were understandably overjoyed.
Avengers Infinity war saw a definiteive end to Thor’s trickter god brother Loki. But with the sequel, Avengers:Endgame saw a parallel timeline Loki steal the Tesseract and escape form his guards. So the question on most fans’ minds is: “will Loki make a comeback from the dead in the new movie?”
