While seven-times F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton might be two seasons into a sticky spell on the track, there’s one area where he continues to reign supreme: his pre-race fits.
Last week he rocked up to the Belgian Grand Prix walk in a purple and yellow-checked matching shirt and trouser combo from Burberry’s FW23 collection, sporting some big old Creeper Chelsea boots for good measure. But of course that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Hamilton has dabbled in the fashion world for some time now, from collaborating with Tommy Hilfiger to collaborating with Takashi Murakami on his own brand +44. He was also spotted last month at Pharrell Williams debut show for Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week.

While traditionally F1 hasn’t really been noted for its dress codes—sponsor-laden overalls being the usual run of things—Hamilton has certainly turned up the volume on the sport’s glamour. Whether in a strokable Louis Vuitton suit or full Rick Owen fit, Dior jumpers or that sparkling jumpsuit gave off a distinct Elton John in 1973 vibe.

The guy might not be able to win a race right now, but as long as Hamilton keeps leading the way with his fits, flanked by three or four crew members and rocking something outrageous in the pit lane, he’ll continue to be the most watchable thing in Formula One.
