Lewis Hamilton is returning to the big screen, and the Formula One star will be joined by one of the biggest stars in the business.

Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton are set to star in a new film centred around F1 at Apple, which reportedly won a battle between Sony, Universal and Netflix on the sought-after script.

The movie, which will tell the story of a retired river who returns to the track in order to mentor a promising young Formula One racer, will be directed by Oblivion helmer Joseph Kosinski, with Jerry Bruckheimer as executive producer, and Pitt’s company Plan B handling the production.

It’s not yet known how big Hamilton’s role will be, but it’s certainly his most high profile role yet. Previously, he played ‘Hamilton’ in Cars 2 and 3, and had a cameo in Zoolander 2.

This isn’t the first time that Pitt and Kosinski tried to bring a racing story to life. Previously the two wanted to adapt the novel ‘Go Like Hell’, only to have the same story adapted with Matt Damon and Christian Bale in Ford vs. Ferrari.

While Hamilton’s season ended in a controversial disappointment, the all-time great will have a lot to prove going into the next season, and opposite Pitt will likely continue to grow as a person.

Hamilton recently told Esquire Middle East that if he wants anyone to play him in a movie, it would be Michael B Jordan. Perhaps if Hamilton’s racing schedule proves too busy, Jordan can hop in the F1 car…
