Names like Salvador Dali and Roy Lichtenstein are no stranger to people with even a fleeting knowledge of art, so the fact that a new exhibition in Dubai will be displaying some of their works is sure to reel in the crowds.
The ‘Gold’ exhibition, held at the Opera Gallery Dubai, from October 5 to 19, will showcase pieces made from the precious metal as interpreted by 25 of the world’s most internationally-renowned artists.
Ahead of the gallery’s 10th anniversary, the focus on gold, dips heavily into the references with its importance in Arab culture.
The event will range from Kossi Aguessey’s golden doll sculptures, as you entertain your eyes to iconic pop artist, Roy Lichtenstein’s resonations moving on to Roy Nachum’s careful use of gold leaves. Robert Indiana’s love sculptures are no less popular either. Other notable artists will include: Yves Klein and Manolo Valdez. Highly recommended.
