Trousers are key for Dunhill’s Fall/Winter collectoon

Dunhill has unveiled its Fall/Winter clothing collection for 2020.

Dunhill introduced the pegged trouser this season, made from felt and eel skin (no, that’s not a type). One of the stars of creative director Mark Weston‘s show. The materials as well as the cut are a nod to the New Romantics, and help provide a more relaxed lower half to the standard silhouette.

Elsewhere, standard suiting has been left behind, in favor of a more figure-hugging silhouette.

According to Weston, it was his process that was key:

“I approached the collection in terms of process – dismantling it and putting it together in a different way. It is also about how to build and engineer clothing. It is a mindset that is not lofty, but it is exciting in its technicality. In many ways, it is a new view of deconstruction.”

Elsewhere, The whole collection very dark and tailored, with a few pops of colour handled by the details. Expect shiny-cuffed trousers and trench coats in black, red and teal. Straps have been fashioned from such materials as eel skin, to create some extravagantly sophisticated accessories. And for the feet: chunky leather shoes and chisel-toed loafers.
