John Legend is all set to perform at Dubai Shopping Festival’s closing celebrations at the Coco Cola arena. Joining him on-stage will be Syrian singer Faia Younan.
Her first debut album, ‘A Sea Between Us’, shares an insight into her childhood growing up in Aleppo before moving to Sweden with her family at the age of 11 and relocating to Scotland to study at Glasgow University. She shot to fame after a music video she created with her sister went viral, catapulting her international recognition and turning singing into a full-time career.
Faia’s crowdfunding efforts to support the launch of her song Ohebbou Yadayka (I Love Your Hands) saw her enter the Guinness World Records as the first Middle Eastern artist to crowdfund a debut song.
“Friends in Dubai and UAE, I cannot wait until we meet and sing together,” she wrote on Instagram.
Also announced as the closing weekend acts of the 25th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) are Rashed Al Majid and Majid Al Mohandis on January 30.
