The trailblazing watchmaker Zenith continues to push the limits of performance and design to the extreme for with the release of the aptly named ‘Defy Extreme’ collection.
The latest addition to the Swiss watchmaker’s futuristic-looking Defy line is a series that looks to capture the pioneering spirit of those who forge their own path and leave a mark on time.
From an aesthetic perspective, the Defy Extreme is essentially a supercharged version of the celebrated Defy model, and one designed to emphasize both the durability and ruggedness, as well as maintaining Zenith’s reputation for superlative precision. In short, this is an all-terrain beast, that also contains a 1/100th of a second chronograph complication.
The Defy Extreme is made from a sharp titanium case, that looks like it was carved out of a boulder in a storm. The larger 45mm case is created with sharper lines, more pronounced edges, and an overall silhouette that exudes robustness and resilience.

One of the Defy Extreme’s most striking elements is the twelve-sided ring placed under the bezel, which extends down to the twelve-sided case back.
Unequivocally modern in its choice of proportions, architecture, materials and finish, the Defy Extreme carries the distinctive traits from the earliest retro-futuristic Defy models of the 1960s including the angular case and its faceted bezel.
To demonstrate its combination of durability and performance, Zenith was the Official Timekeeper of Extreme E – a new off-road electric racing championship that took place in Saudi Arabia.
