After the ten year anniversary of the HM3 Frog just last week, MB&F is getting ready to celebrate another big birthday; that of the HM4 Thunderbolt.
The design-winning HM4 took inspiration from classis airplanes and aviation principles (hence those two jet-engine looking things up top), and was released ten years ago.
To celebrate, the brand has put together a limited edition based on the Kittyhak – the famous P-40 fighter plane that first flew in World War II. It builds on the foundation laid by the original HM4 and features twin torpedo-shaped pods that actually display the hours, minutes and the power reserve.
The case is made of titanium, and measures 52mm x 54mm with a shark mouth motif on the sides – a throwback to the original Kittyhawk plane – painted by hand by Isabelle Villa.
Under the hood (quite literally, with this watch) is the MB&F HM4 hand-wound movement. It features 311 components and 50 jewels, and is one of the most unique movements ever produced (because of how the watch is shaped).
The watch is finished with a layer of clear varnish for protection of that painted motif, and it comes on a vintage leather strap.
The watch is available right now. Price is on request.
