Oris has just pulled the wraps off a new Big Crown Propilot model, this time with a skeletonized dial; and it looks seriously hot.
The new watch is supposedly ‘pure Oris – as nature intended’ and if that’s true, then where has Oris been hiding all this time?
The Big Crown ProPilot x Calibre 115 is very different than other Oris watches, namely in that it uses an in-house skeleton movement. The watch puts everything on display, all visible thanks to the skeleton architecture.
The ProPilot is actually the first of an entirely new line by Oris, which is a fitting sea change for the storied brand. The Calibre 115 is packed full of new technology, including a special new allow for the mainspring, allowing for a ten day power reserve.
The case is made of grade 2 and grade 5 titanium, and each component was designed to wrap neatly around the movement. The bracelet is also unique to the watch, engineered with precision and makes use of Oris’ quickchange clasp – letting you swap the meal for a NATO strap if need be.
