The Lexus UX 300e will be released next year

The high-end division of Toyota has revealed its first ever all-electric model, the Lexus UX300e. It will be delivered in France in 2020.

Based on the brand’s UX crossover, the 300e packs a 150KW electric motor – which delivers 204-horsepower. In terms of performance, it will hit a top speed of 160km/h and can accelerate past 100km in 8.3 seconds. As for the range, it will do around 400km on a single charge.

The latest vehicle has been designed in response to increased demand for all-electric cars in both Europe and China. However, during the launch Lexus was keen to point out that it has always been liking ahead.

At the most recent Tokyo Motor Show, Lexus revealed the LF-30 concept – a motor that boasts a spindle shape spanning the entire length of the vehicle, gullwing doors and window glass from front to the rear.

The concept is a model that will most likely set the tone for future Lexus – and perhaps Toyota – vehicles over the next decade.
