Richard Mille has unveiled exclusive versions of its highly-successful RM 055, themed around the UAE’s very own Yas Marina Circuit.
To commemorate the long-lasting friendship between Richard Mille and the F1, this limited-edition RM 055 was created with the colours of the Yas Marina circuit colours.
To be precise, the flange and crown rubber have been decorated in Yas Blue as well as a YMC logo placed on the sapphire case-back.
What makes this watch so special is its mechanical movement, which was made in grade 5 titanium and that, displays extreme skeletonization with a PVD and Titalyt treated baseplate and bridges. This combination provides the whole structure with optimum rigidity and excellent surface flatness and finishes, essential aspects for the perfect functioning of the gear train. The calibre RMUL2 is thus capable of withstanding accelerations of over 500-G’s.
The movement is equipped with a variable-inertia balance wheel, which ensures reliability in the event of impacts and during assembly and dismantling, thus improving the long-term accuracy of the timepiece.
By placing four small adjustable weights on the balance wheel, Richard Mille were successful in eliminating the regulator index to provide a more accurate and repeatable inertia adjustment.
The RM 055 YMC is a highly technical creation that is innovative, sporting and hand-finished in the finest watchmaking traditions.
