Every two years heralds the return of the most exciting watch auction in the world, and Only Watch hasn’t disappointed in 2017

The Only Watch Charity auction consists only of unique pieces from some of the most highly-lauded watch brands in the world. Each watchmaker generously produces a one-off piece (hence the name, ‘Only Watch’) which then goes under the hammer – with help from Christie’s – in Geneva.

Some of the finest Only Watch pieces for the 2017 edition were recently in Dubai, at the Ritz-Carlton DIFC, letting watch fans and well-heeled collectors check out these incredible timepieces before the auction on November 11. All proceeds from the sale go to fund research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

During the stop-over in Dubai, we had a chance to sit down with Luc Pettavino, founder of Only Watch, and someone who almost singlehandedly made the Only Watch auction one of the most significant of its kind, ever.

You can also check out some of our favourite lots ahead of the auction in Geneva, including a very special left-handed bronze Tudor, a Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, the ever-playful Konstantin Chaykin Joker, and a Patek Philippe Reference 5208T-010, to name but a few.
