Dunhill unwrapped its spring/summer 2021 collection yesterday, showcasing creative director Mark Weston’s vision for the warmer months.
The collection was a playful take on constructed deconstruction, in that pieces featured details you normally wouldn’t see on a completed garment. Think exposed stitching, suit material that is generally used in the production process (and not a finished piece) and more.
According to Mark Weston, the collection is about, “the joy of making clothes and the emotional investment in them. These things felt particularly resonant at this time.
“Fundamentally, there is a notion of utility and elegance – it’s almost a new view of ‘workwear’.”
Pieces stuck to the familiar hues of the Dunhill brand, and include a number of black, white and cream pieces. Clothes are relaxed, and embrace the traditional British tailored silhouette.
“There is an overall sense of culmination,” said Weston, “a reflection of the many things we have invested in the collections at Dunhill – of Dunhill past, present and future.”
In case you missed it, Supreme has continued with its mad-hat collabs from its Spring/Summer 2020, this time with an exclusive pair of Leica Ultravid 8×20 binoculars.
The high-quality binoculars are some of the best in the business, this time reimagined by the New York skate brand’s bold branding and dramatic colour scheme.
