The new line is a modern-day take on one of Tudor’s most classic watch designs

Tudor has just introduced a new collection based of its 70-year-old Royal collection. The original model was released back in 1950.

The new collection features a modern-friendly makeover, across watches for both men and women. The Tudor Royal is available in four sizes – 28mm, 34mm, 38mm, and 41mm – in either stainless steel or two-toned gold and steel.

There’s a few different faces to choose from for a grand total of nine. You get things like sunray satin and mother-of-pearl, as well as Roman numerals and even diamonds.

The collection makes use of ETA movements this time around, including ETA caliber 2834 and ETA caliber 2824. Despite using different movements, everything under the hood is more or less identical – movements operate at 4 Hertz and boast 25 jewels with a power reserve of 38 hours.

The Tudor Royal collection is available right now. Prices vary from US$2,150 to US$3,9225.

In case you missed it, Rafael Nadal and Richard Mille have just unveiled a US$1 million watch with a dial based off a tennis racket.

The suspended tourbillon is tough and light. It can withstand forces of up to 12,000 G’s (which is a world record) and the dial design was inspired by the tensile strength of a tennis racket. The watch weighs just 30 grams.
