Having just announced a new collaboration with The North Face and Pokemon GO, Gucci is continuing the trend of wild collabs with a new 50-item capsule collection based around beloved Japanese manga series Doraemon.
It was initially teased as part of the Italian fashion brand’s Cruise 2021 collection, and the new range celebrates creator Fujiko Fujio’s cat-type robot by placing him on various outerwear, bags and accessories.
The collection has over 50 items, and sees Doraemon appear on coast, jackets, pants, shorts, bags and accessories – all feature the GG monogram pattern as well as the titular manga character in a range of poses.
Despite the rather bold figure on the front of the items, Gucci has kept all its signature design elements with iconic green and red stripes running down the sleeves of coats and jackets, as well as along hems and details on bags and wallets.
The collection ranges from US$160 to US$4,500 across the range. It is available right now online, and at select Gucci boutiques.
