Cartier has unveiled a new take on its iconic Tank timepiece, this time presented asymmetrical.
The aptly-named Tank Asymétrique watch features a rhombus design, and draws inspiration from one of the maison’s most legendary watch designs. The watch is a rectangle from one viewpoint, and more like a diamond from another.
Only 100 of these timepieces will be created, in six versions. There is a sophisticated-looking black and platinum set on a crocodile strap, as well as skeleton varieties.
Even without a skeleton version, each elevates Cartier’s classic design ethos by exposing an interior movement underneath the watch face. The structure of the 9623 MC movement fits neatly inside the case (no adjustments were necessary) and lets you see the inner workings below the dial.
All six versions of the Cartier Privé Tank Asymétrique watch will be available from Cartier Privé boutiques in December.
