Puma has taken a trip down virtual memory lane with a set of new Nintendo Entertainment System sneakers.
The Puma Future Rider Sneakers come in the same gray, black and red colours as the original NES video game console. They also include a hangtag of the console’s iconic controller, as well as a tongue that features box art from the original Super Mario Bros. game.
The interior of the sneakers include more artwork, again inspired by Super Mario Bros. (this time, of Bowser’s castle).
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. game, so the new sneaks feel apt.
In addition to the NES Future Riders, Puma is also releasing a pair of shoes inspired by Super Mario 3D All-Stars. They include pairs themed around Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. Each pair features details that reflect the game, including stars for Super Mario Galaxy.
Like the NES version, these also have hangtags that are Mario-inspired.
The sneakers will range from US$80 to US$125 when they are available on December 4.
