Running, in theory it is the easiest form of excerise to do. That is until the morning after that first run when your legs are screaming at you and you spend the next day limping around the office passing it off as an old football injury flaring up. As with most solo sports, the onus is on you to commit to doing it regularily – which is why if you’re keen, but struggling for motivation, joining a running club might be an ideal solution. The Nike+ Run Club starts up again this month, so here are five reasons for you to get involved:

It’s convenient
Overlooking the likeminded people you’ll meet, and how fit you are going to get, none of that matters if you can’t make it. The chances, though, that you will be able to due to the fact that the Nike Run Club has tailor-made to a wider audience by running the sessions in four different locations: The Burj Park (Downtown Dubai), Dubai Marina, Sunset Beach and Zabeel Park. On top of this NRC are going to run these sessions on Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. No Excuses!
Blowhards are welcome
All levels of experience are welcome. Whether you are an enthusiast looking to stay fit and want to run once a week or a competitive athlete, the Nike Run Club will be able to help. The sessions will be led by head coaches who will prove very useful, allowing you to gain live experience on different types of training and provide valuable guidance.
Track yo’self
On joining the NRC you can download the app which will allow you to log and track your progress. This just means that everything gets slightly more meaningful and you will begin to see a difference in numbers, not just on your body. Globally on the Nike+ Run Club app, 450 million + hours of running has been logged as well as 2.5 billion miles of running distance.
Decide your distance
So whether you are serious or not, there is a deluxe variety of training types on offer at the NRC. Firstly there is, ‘’Ready, Set, Go’’, these sessions are held at the Burj Park on Friday mornings (8:04 a.m.) and focus on fundamentals such as running the first mile. Next there is, ‘’Long Runs’’ at Dubai Marina on Sunday evenings (8:04 p.m.), which involves runs that are 7-9k for the experienced to push themselves. The evening after on Monday (8:04 p.m.) at Sunset Beach is the ‘’Home Runs’’, for Ladies only to run with a crowd and make new friends. Lastly the NRC offers ‘’Speed Runs’’ on Tuesday evenings (8:04 p.m.) at Zabeel Park, which involves swift runs to help people unlock their speed potential.

Our last reason why you should join NRC is simply because the App is free! Let’s be frank no one really enjoys exercising, however you might as well make it legitimate and as enjoyable as possible by logging your stats and joining the sessions.
