The event name teases quicker processor and 5G connectivity speeds

Apple has sent out invitations to what can only be the reveal of its next-generation iPhone 12.

Following last month’s reveal of the new 10.2-inch iPad, the iPad Air and Apple Watch Series 6, Apple is expected to reveal the iPhone 12 on October 13 (it will take place early October 14 UAE time).

The event name alludes to the fact that the iPhone 12 will come with Apple’s fastest processor to date, and the new blower is expected to also support 5G speeds.

According to recent rumours, the iPhone 12 will come in three flavours.

There will be an Apple iPhone 12 Mini – which will sit at 5.4-inches (about the same size as Apple’s iPhone SE).

Then there will be a standard iPhone 12 – which will have a 6.1-inch screen similar to the current iPhone 11.

And then we’ll get Apple’s ‘Pro’ designation phones, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max – the Max is rumoured to have a 6.7-inch display.

All will take design cues from the latest iPad Air (which itself, borrowed much of the design from Apple’s iPad Pro). So expect box sides, slimmer bezels and a fingerprint reader under the power button.

In other news, the new iPhone 12 is expected to look a lot like this concept. Each year Apple releases its latest smartphone to much fanfare making September a big month on the tech calendar for reviewers, content creators and fanboys.
