Twitter is now full of Dubai expats sharing stories about the good times

People who are leaving Dubai along with some who currently live in the Emirate have taken to twitter to share some of their favourite memories using the #IveBeenInDubaiSince hashtag.

Long-time residents remember times when everything was far simpler before the pandemic, while others have shared their last snaps of being in the UAE before they head back home.

A few favourites include the low-cost of shawarmas back in the day, as well as old iconic locations such as Planet Hollywood – which used to be located near the Dubai Marina – and times when the Burj Al Arab was the only hotel on that stretch of Jumeirah beach.

Residents also reminisced about old concerts and visiting celebrities, including the likes of Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone visiting the country, as well as gigs such as Dubai Desert Rock festival (which is sadly, no more).
