At this point we’re not sure if Gucci is trolling us or themselves.

Gucci has just released a new line of clothes called “Fake Not”.

The tongue-in-cheek new line was Alessandro Michele’s take the fact that many of the brand’s goods are copied and counterfeited.

The Gucci Fake Not collection for Fall/Winter 2020 includes many of the brand’s  best-loved pieces with the word ‘Fake’ emblazoned on them.

The Gucci logo in this case is actually fake, with a bicolor stripe first seen in the 1980s. The print has been applied to a variety of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, including the brand’s Ace sneakers and the East/West tote bag.

Each piece has that bright yellow ‘fake’ on the side, as well as the word ‘not’ on the other.

Some of our favourite ready-to-wear pieces include oversized T-shirts and windbreaker jackets.

The Gucci Fake Not collection is yet another example of the fashion industry embracing humour. Earlier this year, Gucci also released a GG monogram guitar case.

In other news, Prada’s new Linea Rossa collection looks the business, but is made from a futuristic new fabric that can help regulate body temperature.

Known as Extreme-Tex, the eco-material was made exclusively for Prada over the past three years. It is made from recycled polyester, and it is both water-repellent and durable. As an added bonus, the material also helps thermoregulate body temperature. It also has antibacterial properties, too.
