- Breitling may cause a stir as café-boutique hybrid is unveiled
- Breitling celebrated the opening of a “Boutique/Breitling Coffee House in Zurich
- It doesn’t seem like CEO Georges Kern is done with his radical revamping
- New shopping experience could serve as guideline across the globe
Ex-IWC CEO and now Breitling chief Georges Kern keeps making headlines in the watch world, and with all his changes and ideas it’s clear to see why.
The first big head turner from Kern was ditching the models in Breitling’s adverts, then there was the introduction more lines than those that just revolve around aviation (namely motorcycles). Now, he’s continuing his work in creating unique shopping experiences for Breitling customers.
Being different in terms of face-to-face shopping seems to be top of Kern’s to-do list. Back last year Breitling opened its uber chic and cool loft boutique, now we have the Coffee House Boutique.
You may be used to going into your local Rolex store and being offered a beverage as you hear all about the diamonds on your prospective Daytona, but have you heard of buying your luxury watch in a café?

Well Breitling wants you to hear about it now with its “Boutique/ Breitling Coffee House” in Zelmoli department store in Zurich.
“It’s a perfect execution of our cool modern retro interior architectural style,” Kern says. “The project really reflects what I call inclusive luxury,” he adds.
It looks like this hybrid is split right down the middle, with half the store being your usual boutique and the other half being this industrial, retro yet modern coffee house. You can be shown the new Breitling Superoceans and then go for a drink to think over your big purchase.
Breitling believes this concept will serve as a blueprint for the rest of the world, so keep your eyes peeled in the Middle East!
