Kids over the age of 3 are now approved to get the Sinopharm vaccine in the UAE.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has approved the emergency use of the Sinopharm vaccine for 3 to 17 age group, based on the results of clinical studies, the strict assessment to approve the emergency use of the vaccine and the local evaluation that complies with the approved regulations.
“The approval for the vaccine comes as part of the UAE’s efforts to combat the COVID-19 virus, and an affirmation of its proactive approach to ensure the health and safety of community members,” said a statement from WAM, the UAE’s state news agency.
The UAE has been leading the way since the beginning of the pandemic. Further proof of that came through last month as the UAE was officially named the most vaccinated nation in the world.
The UAE has officially fully vaccinated 72.1 percent of its population in 15.5 million doses.
Which country is ranked number two? According to Bloomberg’s vaccine tracker data, it is the Seychelles, which has vaccinated 71.7 percent of its less than 100,000 population.
Currently, Sinopharm and Pfizer are the two most administered vaccines in the UAE.
