In a viral video, Dubai’s Crown Prince can be seen pulling Nasser Al Neyadi to safety

Extreme sports are thrilling for a reason—without the proper safety and support, things can apparently get quite dangerous. Luckily, one Dubai’s favourite sons, well versed in extreme situations, was there to help his friend from quite a scary situation.

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has long been a lover of extreme sports, adventure and big thrills. He’s also a friend you can depend on, as he just helped saved the life of a close companion when a watersport activity went wrong.

Watch here:

In a viral video posted by ‘Uncle Saeed’ Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Hamdan’s friend Nasser Al Neyadi can be seen in a water jet pack ready to jet off when something appears to go wrong, and Al Neyadi can be apparently seen crashing into the water and does not immediately come back to the surface.

Sheikh Hamdan rushed to his help along with the rest of the group, and the group pulls Neyadi back upright to the surface and makes sure he is alright. One can speculate that he was glad to have his friends at his side, as who knows what could have happened without the proper safety and support.

Sheikh Hamdan is then seen in the video hugging his friend Al Neyadi and laughing in relief. The video is captioned ‘#closecall’, signalling that this was apparently a life-saving moment.

The video has been viewed nearly 270,000 times at the time of publication.

Nasser Al Neyadi himself has laughed off the event, commenting numerous crying laughing faces on the video.

Thousands have wished Al Neyadi well in the comments, and praised Sheikh Hamdan as a hero for his efforts in helping save his friend’s life.

Sheikh Hamdan has been busy this summer, having become a father of twins just a couple of months ago, as well as helping launch Deep Dive Dubai, which has become a global sensation as it brings the world’s deepest swimming pool to the UAE.

He even brought his friend Will Smith, a fellow watersports enthusiast, along to be one of the first to check it out.
