‘Fazza’ is a father!

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai, became a father of twins this weekend, sharing the first photo of his newborns yesterday to the delight of the emirate.

The Crown Prince can be seen in the photo dressed in a white kandora on a couch with a portrait of his late grandfather, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Hamdan had previously posted a picture of just blue and pink feet, letting the world know that his wife Sheikh Sheikha bint Saeed bin Thani Al Maktoum, whom he married two years ago in a private ceremony, had given birth to a boy and a girl

In the photo’s caption, Sheikh Hamdan thanked Allah for the blessing of his two newborn children.

The photo has been the talk of Dubai this weekend, with Fazza receiving over one million likes and nearly 40,000 comments.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed that the names are Sheikha bint Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum and Rashid bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, with Sheikha and Rashid meaning princess and rightly guided, respectively.

As the boy shares the name with Sheikh Rashid, who can be seen in a photo, it has been noted that he has been named after his late greatgrandfather, a touching ode.

Sheikh Hamdan, 38, is beloved throughout Dubai for his humble nature and host of philanthropic initiatives, and has been noted in the pages of Esquire Middle East for his fashion sense as well, something his children are sure to share.
