Camp in style with your very own airconditioned bubble tent

Abu Dhabi’s Jebal Hafit desert park near Al Ain has officially opened its doors for the colder season.

The park – which lets campers stay in circular pods in the middle of nowhere – is the perfect escape from the always-connected big city. Visitors might also be keen to get out of the city and spend some time outdoors (especially given the amount of time we have spent indoors this year).

The park itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is just 90-minutes away from the UAE capital.

Tents include the traditional Bedouin-inspired, the sci-fi friendly pod tents, or even luxury dome tents with air-conditioning and a telescope. This year you can also bring your own tent, with plots starting at as little as AED100.

While there it’s best to explore the archeological sites – which is the reason why the area is protected. Jebal Hafit has two, including one which dates back 8,000 years and the other is a 5,000 year-old tomb.
