If ever there was a sign that the UAE is getting colder now that summer is over, it’s the haze that tends to blanket the city each morning.
Today, Dubai Marina and parts of Sheikh Zayed Road saw the fog creep in and affect visibility for anyone living below 20-floors up.
Residents took to Reddit to share their snapes – which you can see above.
The fog occurs when cool precipitation is heated quickly by the dawn’s early sun rays.
Yesterday was officially the last day of summer and saw with it some of the coldest temperatures recorded this yar (17.5-degrees Celsius in some places). The Dubai Meteorological society says that residents can expect cooler days and a welcome drop in humidity.
This year has been an interesting one for weather in the UAE. What started as months of very cool and also rainy weather turned very hot and dusty come April and May. Fortunately, it seems like those days are behind us.
According to the Road and Transport Authority, the fog does pose a threat for motorists affected by reduced visibility – especially along the road between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
As a result, it suggests those driving in heavy fog to reduce their speeds according to visibility and be wary of those driving ahead of you.
