The 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards show was hosted virtually last night, by Jimmy Kimmel.
Some of the big international winners include the cast of Schitt’s Creek, which took home a whopping nine awards (it also broke all Emmy records for most wins in a single season). Euphoria star Zendaya also became the youngest lead actress in a drama. And Watchmen’s Regina King and Eugene Levy took home their fourth Emmy each.
Elsewhere, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II won his first Emmy for HBO’s Watchmen, and dedicated it “To all the black women in my life.”
But it was a bumper year too for acting talent in the Middle East. While Eugene Levy pipped Ramy Youssef to the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, there’s little doubt that we’ll see more great things from him over the next few years.
