After teasing it at last month’s Unpacked event, Samsung has officially unveiled its Galaxy Z Fold2 5G – which is technically its third foldable smartphone.
The phone builds on the success of its previous models, and really does look to make the foldable phone a gadget of the present (and not the future).
While we have yet to go hands-on with the device, Samsung did address all major criticism of its previous models – mainly, that the hinge is stronger than ever before. The so called Hideaway Hinge allows the phone to free stand, meaning you can use the phone in a variety of positions (folded, unfolded, as a stand, etc.)

The Infinity Flex main screen unfolds to a huge 7.6-inches. This time around it is covered by Samsung Ultra Thin Glass, which means it is stronger than ever and minimizes the crease near the fold.
One of the greatest upgrades is the phone’s secondary Infinity-O screen, which now takes up the entire front of the device.
That means that multitaskers really do get the best of both words; a proper smartphone screen when folded and that glorious square Infinity Screen for when they need more screen real estate.

The device comes fully loaded in the camera department, with a grand total of five. You get two selfie cameras (one on the cover and one on the main screen) as well as three on the back of the device (one of which can shoot 4K videos.
Of course, all those screens take up an enormous amount of powered, hence the inclusion of a 4,500mAh battery that is guaranteed to last you through the day.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 5G comes with 256GB of storage, and 12GB of RAM. It will be up for pre-orders on September 12 for US$2,000.
