Remember when the weekend comes around and your significant other wants to make a trip down to Festival City Mall to visit the IKEA store to shop for bags and bags of home bits that you might or might not need? Well, we’ve all been there and we have some good news for you.
There’s a new IKEA store coming to Dubai and it’s set to be even bigger than the one we already have, and hopefully that means more payment tills. It is set to open its doors at the end of this year. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, as the store is set to open before the festive season.
The new store will be based in Al-Futtaim’s Festival Plaza in Jebel Ali, which is scheduled to open in December.
The store will be spread over 30,000 m sq and will focus on sustainability. It will also have an international training centre for IKEA employees.
IKEA will be joined at Festival Plaza by ACE, M&S and Lulu Hypermarket, which will have 85 percent of space allocated to grocery food and fresh foods.
The mall will have an additional 120 stores within the 64,800 m sq retail area, a 500-seat food court, over 40 dining and eating options, a Stay and Play, family entertainment kids club and over 2,300 parking spaces.
