Fake news?

Remember when the crew of the new James Bond movie were “close to mutiny” when Cary Fukunaga held up production for hours to play on his PS4? Well, apparently that is true, or so he claims.

The director of Bond 25 has insisted he didn’t hold up production to play Red Dead Redemption 2.

In an Instagram post he said: “Our Production Designer/Artful master of living for the day, Mark Tildesley— commented to me once that being a director must feel like dying of a thousand cuts, because of the constant stream of questions one must field. There’s not a minute on this job that isn’t scheduled, and even during a shoot day, in the hours before call, between takes and setups, and after we wrap there’s always a line of dedicated and hard working department heads hungry to prep our next sequences, no one sleeps on this kind of job. So sure it’s hard, but it’s still the best job in the world and I’d never disrespect the hardest working cast and crew. We’re all in this together. As for my PS4 relationship, if my RDR2 progress is any indication, it’s been stunted at 63% for months and if anyone spoils the end for me before I wrap on B25 I’m going to be pissed.”

A Bond source told The Sun: “There is real mutiny right now on the set. It’s bad enough that Cary was so late for filming and held everyone up, but then for the crew to be asked to work extra hours to cover it was just the final straw.”

The director turned up around three hours late for a filming slot, and then asked people to work overtime on the weekend.

“He turned up three hours late which p***ed everyone off. There was a big bust up because they’re so behind. Many said they were not willing to give up their Father’s Day in return for this film. It’s just doomed.”

The movie has been suffering from a series of setback after Daniel Craig was injured on set. In May, however filming was brought to a standstill after Craig, in his fifth outing for the hit franchise, injured his ankle on the set of Bond 25 and he underwent reparative surgery. The movie however is back on track after the official Bond social media accounts posted an image of him working out in the gym. He still has a cast on his leg, but it’s probably coming off soon—the post’s caption says that 51-year-old Craig will be back on set “shooting next week.”
