There’s going to be a BIG announcement on the James Bond front today. With it being confirmed that Oscar winner Rami Malek is going to be cast as the next Bond villain.
This is what he had to say on being cast as the villain in the popular 007 series. “I will be making sure Mr Bond does not have an easy ride in this, his 25th outing. See you all soon.”
During the live stream in Jamaica, it was also confirmed that Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw will return as M and Q, with Naomie Harris coming back as Moneypenny. Lea Seydoux will once again take up the role of Madeleine Swann character from 2015’s Spectre.
Bond’s 25th movie will arrive on the big screens on 8 April, 2020, almost 17 months after its original release date.
But Bond 25 will have a lot of new faces joining the mix as well.
New cast members will include Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch, Game Night actor Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah and David Dencik.

Esquire recently reported earlier this year that according to Collider, it’s going to be recent Oscar winner and proud owner of the most gigantic prosthetic dentures in Los Angeles, Rami Malek. The site says that, according to its sources, he’s was in “final negotiations” now, and that part of the delay in sorting the deal is because both sides were waiting to see whether he’d win the Best Actor gong and thus be able to command a bit more bunse.

Malek addressed the rumors last month, telling Entertainment Tonight that playing a Bond villain would be a “dream role.” While he warned that he had to keep “tight, tight lips” about the details, he said he would “absolutely take the role. “
“It would be nice to play a villain,” Malek told ET.

But is he the chosen one? And what do we know so far?
The film, whose working was revealed last month to be Shatterhand, marks Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007. He has previously starred in Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).

The release is set for April 2020 and we might know the name of the new movie – dubbed by Bond aficionados as Bond 25. Reports suggests that Bond 25 will be called Shatterhand. It certainly accords with a 2017 report which also said that the plot would come from Raymond Benson’s novel Never Dream Of Dying. Benson’s books also provided plots for Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.
However in March, film producer Barbara Broccoli refused to autograph a fan-created title treatment for Shatterhand. The BBC reports that some now believe the film’s working title is Eclipse, after a crew member used the name on her profile on a jobs website.
There was also minor controversy surrounding who will direct the latest movie. In 2018 it was announced that months after revealing that he’d direct the upcoming 25th James Bond film, Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle has exited the film because of creative differences.

“Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig later announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25,” the official James Bond Twitter account tweeted.
The film is being directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, whose past works include HBO’s True Detective season 1 and Netflix drama Maniac. Regulars Léa Seydouz, Naomi Harris, and Ralph Fiennes will return to the series. Game Night’s Billy Magnussen, who worked with Fukunaga on Maniac, is reportedly also in talks to play a CIA agent.
Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has reportedly also been drafted in to work on the script for Bond 25.

Various locations in Jamaica, where Bond creator Ian Fleming once lived, and the Italian province of Matera will also be used as filming continues throughout 2019. Given the location of the last tweet from the official James Bond handle, it deifnitely looks like a tropical destination.
