He’ll be back on set very soon

The reluctant Bond, Daniel Craig is back in the gym, training for his upcoming Bond 25 movie.

In May, however filming was brought to a standstill after Craig, in his fifth outing for the hit franchise, injured his ankle on the set of Bond 25 and he underwent reparative surgery. The movie however is back on track after the official Bond social media accounts posted an image of him working out in the gym. He still has a cast on his leg, but it’s probably coming off soon—the post’s caption says that 51-year-old Craig will be back on set “shooting next week.”

Esquire.com reports that the movie, which is being directed by True Detective’s Cary Fukunaga, faced another accident earlier this month when a stunt test went awry, creating an explosion that blew off part of the set’s roof. Though the incident didn’t further delay the shoot, a crew member suffered a minor injury.

The new Bond film has been mired in controversy. Craig’s role as Bond in the hit franchise was debatable after he made some impassioned comments about filming the next movie when he said he would “rather slash my wrist” than apear in another bond movie.

According to the film’s official synopsis, the film will follow Bond after he’s left MI6, “when his friend Felix Leiter enlists his help in the search for a missing scientist. When it becomes apparent that they were abducted, Bond must confront a danger the likes of which the world has never seen.”

The star who does most of his own Bond stunts, famously said in an interview that one day a more serious injury would prove a setback to the films.

“There’s a terrifying thought where we might have to shut down filming while I go off and have surgery and everybody has to wait around. It would have been just awful.”

Oscar winner Rami Malek has been cast as the next Bond villain. During the live stream in Jamaica in April, it was also confirmed that Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw will return as M and Q, with Naomie Harris coming back as Moneypenny. Lea Seydoux will once again take up the role of Madeleine Swann character from 2015’s Spectre.
