There’s not a lot of things that South African explorer Mike Horn hasn’t done. He has travelled to the North Pole in the darkness of winter and has climbed peaks of 8,000 metres without oxygen assistance, from swimming the Amazon River solo to an unsupported to an unmotorised circumnavigation of the globe at the equator, Horn is the world’s foremost modern day explorer.

At SIHH this year, Panerai dedicated a Submersible model to legendary explorer Mike Horn. There are two new models, and each is made to minimise its environmental impact. The 47-millimetre case is made up of recycled aero grade Titanium, the strap is made of recycled PET bottles, and even the watch that the watch is sold is has been made of 100-percent recycled materials.
The Submersible Mike Horn Edition PAM00984 features a black dial and green Super-Luminova.
The 19-piece limited edition Submersible Mike Horn Edition PAM 985 offers a rare experience. The watch retails for $58,000 and buyers will get to accompany him on his trip for a few days.
