Expect new models, collections and partnerships

Panerai looked to its roots for inspiration at this year’s SIHH watch show in Geneva. The brand concentrated on its Submersible range of dive watches, with several new additions created in partnership with equally storied Italian brands.

The new PAM1039 served as an announcement of the partnership between both Panerai and Luna Rossa, the sailing team names as the Challenger of Record of the 36th America’s cup. The new timepieces will be worn by the crew members of the sailing team (when they take part in the next regatta in 2021).

The Submersible Luna Rossa has a case and unidirectional bezel made of carbotech – similar to the carbon fibre technology used in the hull of the Luna Rossa AC75 yacht. The watch has a GMT function, and the dial is wrapped in a piece of original Luna Rossa sail.

Elsewhere, Panerai pulled the wraps off the Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech – created to honour the historic partnership the brand has with the Italian Navy.

Lastly, Panerai dedicated a Submersible model to legendary explorer Mike Horn. There are two new models, and each is made to minimize its environmental impact. The 47-millimetre case is made up of recycled aero grade Titanium, the strap is made of recycled PET bottles, and even the watch that the watch is sold is has been made of 100-percent recycled materials.
