After setting up to be the cutting edge, creative urban centre of new Dubai, the growing reputation Dubai Design District (d3) is starting to build a head of steam. Streetwear pop-up shops, innovative restaurants and the addition of the slick new barbershop Chaps & Co, is certainly going do no harm.
The hip, ultra-modern barbers may be inspired by classic British gentleman’s clubs (think leather sofas and swanky Belmont chairs), but with PS4-equipped flat screen TVs, espresso machines and two private massage treatment rooms it is very much a hideaway for the today’s man.
Located on the Mezzanine floor of Building Six, the new d3 venue is Chaps & Co’s third in Dubai (after JLT and Dubai Marina), a credit to the success of the UAE company, which only started in 2015.
Aside from the squad of highly trained barbers (including the UAE’s first female men’s barber), the d3 venue allows the time-poor man to order in food from nearby restaurants to save time during the lunch break. Smart.
