Welcome to Best Dressed 2016!
I know what many of you are thinking: how did Esquire select just 21 men to be our Best Dressed Men of the Middle East? Is that fair, or even possible? The answer is, yes… and no.
Let me explain.
You’ll see that, yes we have chosen guys who are all incredibly well dressed and deserving of a place in Esquire. So far so good.
But no, it’s not strictly fair, in the sense that there are many men in the region who have a strong case for being on this list. More than ever before, men here love to dress well and take pride in their appearance, and there are some great brands for them to experiment with – from the high-street all the way to high fashion. It’s been my pleasure as editor-in-chief since 2009 to witness this boom in menswear, which shows no sign of slowing.
So our intention with the Best Dressed list is to provide a snapshot of how men this region have embraced these developments. How they are prepared to express their taste and individuality and make bold fashion statements or subtle stylish choices.
But more than all this, the men we feature here are dynamic, interesting, internationally minded and innovative characters. They have a positive, can-do mind-set in business and in life. They have style and substance.
These men represent the spirit of Esquire. They are the reason why we are so proud our Middle East brand. I thank them all for taking part and I thank you, the readers, for your ongoing support.
